InspectionXpert First-Article is standalone software which is not dependent on the CAD systems. The users sometimes obtain the necessary information (drawings and specifications etc.) for manufacturing with not the CAD data but the PDF and the papers from the customers. Because the customers want to protect the technical know-how in the CAD model. Besides, there are some reasons. In this case, the drawings like the PDF do not have the parameters and the attributes.
Therefore, the users operate the InspectionXpert First-Article through the following steps.

1.
Capture the necessary characteristics on the drawing.

2.
InspectionXpert First-Article recognize it as the values and the characters with OCR.

3.
The user confirm the recognized characteristic. (The characteristic is loaded into the interface like the right figure.) If the characteristic is recognized wrongly, the user modify it to the correct values. Because the user can modify the characteristics, while confirming the correct values on the single interface, the users can prevent the inputting error.
Additionally, the captured characteristics can be exported to the inspection sheet. Therefore, the users can reduce the read error from this functionality.

4.
After extracting all necessary characteristics, the users create the inspection sheet and add the balloons into the drawing.

How about the recognition rate on InspectionXpert First-Article?

InspectionXpert First-Article use the OCR functionality to recognize the characteristics on the drawing. This is similar to the behavior of the software which scans the business card and registers the information. This is affected by the following. Therefore, we can not answer the concrete recognition rate.

  1. Font format (This is dependent on the customer's specification.)
  2. PDF format which is scanned from the paper drawing
    (This is dependent on the noise and the resolution in scanning.)
The existing users have improved the recognition rate by providing the specific recognition dictionary for the original font.

InspectionXpert have the functionality which can easily create the template for the inspection sheet.
Therefore, creating the inspection sheet does not require much time.

How is the license managed?

A.
There are two kinds as the license management.

Nodelock license
The machine for InspectionXpert is fixed. In other words, you can not use the InspectionXpert on other machines.
Concurrent license
The server is put to manage the license. The clients obtain the license through the network.
The machine for InspectionXpert is not fixed. However, you can not use the InspectionXpert of over the number of license you have purchased.

What is the characteristics which can be extracted from the drawings?

A.
The characteristics which InspectionXpert can extract differ by each CAD system. However, the characteristics must have the information as the parameters to extract them accurately. In other words, the drawing which is loaded from other format (*.dwg etc.) might be unable to extract the characteristics.
The basic extractable characteristics are Dimensions and GTOLs, Notes.
